Honoring Scioscia

Last night they honored Scioscia with a scoreboard tribute and we were all over him in the dugout. They played that Sinatra song My Way, which is a little slow. Garrett Anderson asked if someone had died. He was really busting us up. You could tell Scioscia was surprised and a little embarrased. We tried to get him to take a curtain call but he wouldn't do it. We were definitely busting his balls, especially seeing the pictures of him with long hair and a few less pounds. It was funny to see. He is a solid manager. He's very consistent and doesn't get too high or too low. He is very even kieled. He is a good guy to be running the show because he is consistent and you always know where you stand. There are plenty of guys who are hard asses and others who are easy. Scioscia can really do both. He keeps it light in the clubhouse and guys have fun in there, but when it's time to play he's all business. He really does a great job. We just finished up photo day, which is always a cool event. The fans come out and line up and take pictures of us. It's cool because you get to interact with the fans and give the kids a high five. I like doing that. Time to get ready to play the Dodgers.

  The Scioscia tribute video was top notch. I teared up a bit, and so did quite a few guys that I know :) It was great seeing shots of him in his early days as a Dodger. I wish he would have come out of the dugout though haha

  I wish I got to see that tribute. I read Scioscia said he turned four shades of red. Funny.
  
  I noticed a lot of Dodger fans on their forum want Frank McCourt to hire Scioscia as their manager. I guess they don't like watching an AL team show them how to play NL style baseball.

  its always fun to watch scioscia's genius in action during the games, but hearing exactly what the players think about him really shows how great of a manager he really is.

  Scioscia really has been a huge part of the Angels' success. The Dodgers had him primed and ready to go when they dumped Billy Russell...but instead of turning the job over to Scioscia they hired Davey Johnson. Huge mistake! But great for us! It was wonderful to be in Angels' Stadium and enjoy the sweep yesterday!

  IF photo day is such a "cool event", why were you and Jered walking about 20 feet away from the yellow rope that us fans had to stand behind, and why would you NEVER stop so that we could get pictures of either of you??? I was down on that field, and between where I was at the dugout and where other friends were (out by the bullpen), everyone said you wouldn't stop to have a picture taken.
